Early sunset

It is in the early morning and the evening when I love the sky the best.  In particular I adore skies like this one, where the clouds appear to be illuminated by a light whose source I cannot discern.  I love imagining the light that comes from somewhere beyond the earth, beyond the realm of logical thought.  I believe in that place.

37

My birthday, four years ago.  It boggles my mind how different my life is now.  We never know, do we?  Better to just ride the waves.  I know that’s true, but am still learning how.  Also, I think I’m finally accepting that I just don’t love this day.  It marks time like almost nothing else, and I resist that with every cell of my body.  Onward.

Two cousins reading

This cousin, and her family, are moving abroad in a couple of days.  We will miss them, though we can’t wait for our visit in December.

On our way

Yesterday morning, Logan airport.

(a) how savagely tan is my daughter?
(b) my children were astonishingly well behaved on 6 hour flight.  thank you jet blue television
(c) pool, showers, 5pm snacks and wine, dinner, bed
(d) when Whit did something funny last night, Grace said, “go write that on your blog, Mummy.”  Ahem.

We’re back at one of our favorite places on earth.  And it feels really good.
