Leaving on a jet plane

Legos were a big part of my childhood (no surprise with Engineer Dad). Grace loves them too. I picked her up early from school today so that I could read her the end of her latest fairy book before leaving for Logan (more on that in a minute). While I was finishing packing, she went into the family room and go to to work with the big bin of Legos. I love when she builds things out of the blocks, guided only by her imagination. There is always some random muttering to herself as she goes, and then she’s proud and wants to show me what she did and, hopefully, have me take a picture of it.
Flying to Venice tonight for a super quick trip. I don’t want to go, at all, and already miss Cambridge and everything about it. I wish it was my January trip to Europe, more fun, longer, or else I wish it was already Wednesday night late and I was home.
I haven’t slept well in a couple of nights and am tired from my long run yesterday. Full of complaints. I have earplugs and Ambien and big hopes that I might spend most of the flight in a coma. Fingers crossed. Send me Oblivion Vibes.
