Just another weekend in paradise.
We had a brief but wonderful visit last night with Hadley, John, Charlotte, and baby Jack. Charlotte and Gracie are really starting to develop their own relationship and it’s just so heart-warming to watch. Nothing better than second generation friendships – Charlotte and Julia Sussman are the two obvious daughters-of-dear-friends who are around Grace’s age and with whom I’ve enjoyed observing this dynamic.
Early this morning I went for a terrific run. The moon was a bright sliver in the dark sky when I started and by the time I got home it was bright morning light. Definitely the highlight of this day! Matt worked this morning so I was on single mom duty. We went to soccer, where I spent most of my time chasing Whit around the adjacent playground, unfortunately missing Grace’s FOUR goals during the game. Then the three of us went off to Steve Songs at the Regent Theater. I am a flat-out, full-on Steve groupie. I love his music and can sing along to most songs by heart. Grace was really into it too. The best part was that we randomly wound up sitting behind Emily Frug and Charlie so I got to catch up with Em while the children danced wildly in the aisles. So weird to think that Grace is now at BB&N, the place where I met some of those oldest friends like Emily.
And now it’s naptime – everybody is quiet and I am blissfully alone for a few minutes.
