I found this quote, the first sentence of which is as good an encapsulation of what I believe as I’ve ever read, on Kerry Landreth’s beautiful blog, Next Trip Around the Sun.
I think that quote would properly be attributed to Macrina Wiederkehr. I’m not enough of a scholar to know if Plato could have been at all familiar with the Book of Exodus, but it seems unlikely.
