We went out to my parents’ boat on Thursday afternoon to take off the sails in preparation for her to be hauled. The harbor is already emptying quickly. Trailers are driving up and down the streets. There are no batteries anywhere to be bought. On the boat, the children danced.

Lovely photo of the dancing! 🙂 Thinking of you as we prepare here in Maine; hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Take care!
Stay safe! Thinking of you all!
yes, because it’s always a good time to dance. thinking of you and the family this weekend (and always).
What a great picture! Thinking of you and hoping all of you are safe. Take care.
I love the way this is written. It is beautiful.
Growing up in Louisiana and Mississippi, the preparation for hurricanes became a dance in and of itself to me.
My mother lost everything in Katrina 6 years ago which, interestingly enough, has made us both more and less afraid of hurricanes.
I see that it crossed land in North Carolina this morning. It looks like you will be windward (east of the eye) now which is a scarier place to be. Stay buttoned down. Be Safe.
As children will do… what a photograph!
We’re doing the same down the coast from you. It’ muggy as all get out and starting to rain just outside DC.
Calming thoughts to us all…
XOXO
stay safe and enjoy the howling winds. xo
Hope you all stay dry. It looks like a long wet storm.
Dance before, be safe during.
Stay safe. Love the pre-hurricane moment you captured.
